Summary

The next thrilling instalment in the Underworld Gods series。 Perfect for readers who want high steam Hades/Persephone and Beauty and the Beast vibes with a dark Nordic folklore twist。

All Hanna Heikkinen wants is to be reunited with her father again。 After all, that's why she ventured into the dark and dangerous fantasy world of Tuonela, the Land of the Dead, in order to save his life。 But this time her devotion to her father comes at a cost---her growing relationship with Tuoni, the God of Death himself, who held Hanna captive in exchange for her father's life。 The last thing she expects is to feel remorse at how she left things with Death, yet the dark and sexy God is all she can think about。

Death has always prided himself on never trusting the living, but Hanna's apparent betrayal has left a scar fathom's deep。 Vowing revenge on his future bride, and making sure she upholds her end of the bargain, Death sets out across his realm to steal Hanna back, which only fans the flames between them。 But Death and Hanna aren't just fighting each other---malevolent Old Gods are rising to power within the realm, magic is being poisoned, and buried secrets are brought to light, secrets that may cause Hanna to lose everyone she loves dear once again。

Karina can write some fantastic smut 😂 an important to the story for me was seeing more of the Finnish gods and their connection to the underworld as well。 I cannot get over the crazy freaking ending and cliffhanger she gave us, I have no clue how I’m supposed to wait for book 3!! 。。。more

I genuinely enjoy this dark Finnish mythology series。 Halle does a great job of injecting modern takes to these Old Gods。 IT makes the journey fun and easy to follow。 This edition jumps right from where the last book ended and while many questions are answered, even more have sprung。 I need to know how this is all going to wrap up especially with all the new plot points being presented。 This is a slower journey with less world building and more of Hanna establishing her role in the Underworld。 T I genuinely enjoy this dark Finnish mythology series。 Halle does a great job of injecting modern takes to these Old Gods。 IT makes the journey fun and easy to follow。 This edition jumps right from where the last book ended and while many questions are answered, even more have sprung。 I need to know how this is all going to wrap up especially with all the new plot points being presented。 This is a slower journey with less world building and more of Hanna establishing her role in the Underworld。 There's new characters with new enemies and more gross beings being introduced。 I loved that we spent even more time establishing Hanna and Death as a couple while also navigating how all of the new information will be used。 There is one particular scene that I think I will never get over and I Am still trying to decipher how it worked。 When you read it, you'll know。 It was amazing, hot, next step in Hanna and Death's story。 。。。more

I am having a moment to gather my thoughts。 It is very rarely when I write long review, but this book definately deserves it。This book was WOW just WOW。 I am speechless。 Crown of Crimson was everything that I imagined and more, soo much more。After the way River of Shadows finished, this book starts straight away after what happened in the end of the previous book。Hanna and Tuoni。。。I just don't know how to start。 They  are the best couple I've ever met。 The the heat between them it's not the same I am having a moment to gather my thoughts。 It is very rarely when I write long review, but this book definately deserves it。This book was WOW just WOW。 I am speechless。 Crown of Crimson was everything that I imagined and more, soo much more。After the way River of Shadows finished, this book starts straight away after what happened in the end of the previous book。Hanna and Tuoni。。。I just don't know how to start。 They  are the best couple I've ever met。 The the heat between them it's not the same, it's way way way more。 There is some misunderstanding between them in the beginning of the book, but after that the thing starts going in a really good pace。 What I've seen as a reader of their story is that both of them are having difficulties trusting one another。 This does affects them both。 But both of them are growing as a people and the walls that were built starts to crumble。 Tuoni is a great god in every possible way。 He is sexy, smart and possessive as hell towards Hanna。。。all in a good way。 She definately grows as a person and a woman。 She is still torn between the human world and the world of Gods, but in the meantime she cares a great deal about Tuoni and his family。 Even though both of them struggle with their lives, they are together all the time trying to get to know each other。 If you ask me, they definately love each other, but they don't want to admit it。 I am sure that this will happen soon, more particularly in the next book 😁。Let me tell you something else。 Karina was dripping a lot if teasers for the book and one of them was for a particular chapter。 It was about Chapter 19。 Well, this part of the book was insane。 It was filled with soo much heat, flame, erotic times and soo soo much 🔥🔥🔥。 After I've read it, I asked myself: What the $@& I've just read。 I was literally blushing while reading it。For everyone that will read the book, expect unexpected surprises。 You will not be sorry 😱🤫🤯!Karina Halle gives us a wonderful story about love, dark romance and mythology。 The world that she has built is awesome。 A person has to have a great imagination to built such a beautiful nature and main characters。 My hat is completely down, because she is one of the best authors and I am in awe from her。 I am in love with her books。 With an arm of my heart I am saying: "Thank you for writing this book。 Thank you for giving me the chance to read this。 If I can I will give this book a 100 🌟。Special thanks to Karina Halle and Social butterfly PR for providing me with this ARC copy。 。。。more

A huge truth bomb is revealed and I’m dying for the next book。 Death and Hanna are everything together。 I’m so happy we’re getting a third book! 。。。more

Karina Halle has had a rough go of things in life and made it no secret that she was pushing back the release of this book to concentrate on her mental health。 She wanted the readers to have a book we would love and didn't feel she could give it in the original time。 I applaud her for putting herself first and I have to say that this book she is releasing was totally worth the wait! Hanna is back and so is Death (Tuoni), in all his alpha sexiness。 I worried that this book would take a long time to get Hanna and Death back together, however, it was just the right amount of time separated to create some tension, but not make me anxious。 There are bombs being dropped left and right in this installment and it keeps readers on the edge of their seat。 I absolutely love Hanna's personality, her references to pop culture had me cracking up and I loved that even though she's been thrown into this completely outlandish world, she's still able to hold true to who she was。 Tuoni's character has begun to grow in this book as well, he's opening up to Hanna, although reluctantly, and it's bringing out a side that is incredibly swoon worthy。 The HEAT in this book is scorching。 These two cannot keep their hands, mouths, and body parts off of the other。 There's a certain chapter that had my Kindle practically catching fire。。。。 you'll know when you get there! I cannot recommend this book enough, the first book was an excellent start, the second has me dying for me, I can't wait to see how the third gets Hanna and Tuoni out of their current predicament。 Try it out today, you won't regret falling into this world。 。。。more

I enjoyed the first book。 It did end on a cliffhanger so I was ready to find out what happened next。 Book two wasn’t a bad second book。 It also ended cliffhanger-y。 There will be more to this series。 I look forward to seeing what comes next。 Book two was very steamy。 There was a lot of setting stuff up for more to come。 All of the characters were interesting。 We’ll see what happens next。 Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long。 I voluntarily read early copy。

When Death asked Hanna if she happed to come across a mermaid in her chambers I about died with laughter。 Death did make me a little angry at times in the beginning and he didn’t have to do her like that on their “honeymoon”。 He redeemed himself and it was so funny watching him fight his love for Hanna。 He was such a softie at times and seeing him finally to succumb to his feelings for her was so adorable。 He could break and melt your heart with how he just wanted to feel love。 The quote where Hanna states that he once said that he’d pity her if she ever loved him and he answers with perhaps he wanted to pity her…。melted my effing heart!! Ugh! Ok and my mind was blown, I was like how is it ending like this?! Any way the final two chapters shit hits the fan and those events shook me to my core。 I was so shocked and I’m like how can you do this to us Karina?? LOL, somewhere along the line I didn’t realize we would be getting 3 books in this series。 Thank the gods because I have to know now how this epic conclusion will turn out。 People, I highly recommend this, read these books!! It evoke some crazy feelings in me while I read THAT scene 🥵 One certain moment was bit too far for my tastes (you know why once you read it)。 I would say - remember this chapter, but who am I kidding。 You will not forget about it so soon! Also, thank the stars we have Death's pov! Just like Hanna, Death also is like a reliable narrator that helps us to understand him more in depth。 It felt organic。 Because of his pov, we get to read his emotions towards Hanna, his family and his kingdom。 He's still this sexy, filthy and brooding God, but there is more to him than just his delicious looks。 And Hanna - our loyal, kind and badass capoeira ninja。 I adore her。 With her strength and determination, she's becoming something grander。 Someone fierce and Queen worthy。 I very much enjoyed her character progression in this book。I'll leave you with these two quotes:''I started to hate death。 With a passion。 That unfairness and cruelty of it all。 How dare he come for my father? How dare he come for any of us? All any of us wants is to live, why can't that be enough? Then I met Death。''''F*ck you。'' I scowl, trying to get my hands free。 ''Fairy girl, I'm the one that's f*cking you。''As it ends on a cliffhanger, I can't wait to get my hands on the 3rd installment of this captivating story。 。。。more

I need to quit saying "I don't normally read。。。。", even though that is the case when it comes to fantasy and such, but if Karina Halle writes it, I will read it。 That's why Crown of Crimson was one of my most highly anticipated books of the spring。 And boy did it deliver!Crown of Crimson is book two in the Underworld Gods series and you must read these books in order。 River of Shadows (book 1) ended on a cliffhanger and this book picks up right where it left off。 Hanna has left Death and is now I need to quit saying "I don't normally read。。。。", even though that is the case when it comes to fantasy and such, but if Karina Halle writes it, I will read it。 That's why Crown of Crimson was one of my most highly anticipated books of the spring。 And boy did it deliver!Crown of Crimson is book two in the Underworld Gods series and you must read these books in order。 River of Shadows (book 1) ended on a cliffhanger and this book picks up right where it left off。 Hanna has left Death and is now discovering more things about the Underworld as well as a lot of about herself, her family and her background。 This book has Hanna really coming into her own and realizing her power and who she is meant to be。Since we mostly get Hanna's POV, I am really connecting with her and all her sides。 I've enjoyed seeing her grow, her connections she is forming between the other Gods and her fighting capabilities。 Around each corner, she continues to surprise me and elevates her status in her new world。 She is becoming who she was always meant to be and Karina Halle is writing it beautifully with the folklore mixed with fantasy and some darn sexy romance。 But the real bonus we got with this book was finally getting Death's POV。 It's not a lot, but it's there and I'm beginning to understand who he is to this world and how he really feels about Hanna。 We definitely need more Death and BOY does Karina give us more of him! Chapter 19。 🔥 That’s all I’m saying。 If you are looking for a book/series that will leave you totally consumed with mythology mixed with modern, and action mixed with romance, Crown of Crimson and the Underworld Gods will capture you and not let up。 You get to journey through another world and meet interesting characters that all have very important parts to Hanna's self discovery。 It's hot, it's sexy, it's funny, it's dark and sometimes violent, but it's filled with a world that I cannot wait to read more about。 Because, guess what? There's another cliffhanger and I'm left wanting so much more and to see what is going to develop with our King and Queen of Death。 Definitely looking forward to what's to come。"Fear is the real death。 It's what keeps us from living。 I should have been fully alive with you。" 。。。more

Crown of Crimson is the second book in the Underworld Gods series picking up the story immediately from where the first book ended。 If I’m being completely honest this book was one of my most anticipated reads of this year and I haven’t been disappointed。 It’s a fantastically dark and atmospheric fantasy romance full of twists and turns where nothing is what it seems and no one can be trusted。 I’m loving the development of Hannah’s character in this book as she becomes stronger and a more that f Crown of Crimson is the second book in the Underworld Gods series picking up the story immediately from where the first book ended。 If I’m being completely honest this book was one of my most anticipated reads of this year and I haven’t been disappointed。 It’s a fantastically dark and atmospheric fantasy romance full of twists and turns where nothing is what it seems and no one can be trusted。 I’m loving the development of Hannah’s character in this book as she becomes stronger and a more that fitting queen for Tuoni, the ultimate anti-hero in the God of Death himself。 The chemistry between them is just as hot as hell itself and as for chapter nineteen!!! Well that was definitely a whole new level of scorching。 I love how Karina Halle describes Tuonela, the Land of the Dead that she has created。 Her words are so vivid and detailed it was easy to imagine everything playing out in my head as I read。Be warned, if you thought River of Shadows ended on a cliffhanger, well that was nothing compared to how this book ends? This one will put you through the proverbial emotional wringer。 。。。more
